21ST CENTURY PROGRAM SITE COORDINATOR

 

Reports to: 21ST Century Program Director

Employment Status: As assigned on board-approved contract

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

1. Minimum of a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

2. Valid State of Ohio teaching license or educational aide permit

3. Successful completion of BCI/FBI background checks

4. Meet requirements for paraprofessional status

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

 

The purpose of the Site Coordinator is to provide quality before/after school programming and effectively manage the daily operations of the program by building a positive working relationship with students, staff, parents and community partners.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The below list is not ranked in order of importance.)

 

1. Ensure safety of students, taking all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities

 

Fiscal:

1. Determine necessary program supplies

2. Submit requisitions to district personnel after Program Director approval

3. Maintain inventory and monitor use of supplies

4. Enroll families in gas voucher program (collect and record documentation, determine daily mileage reimbursement, complete spreadsheet, prepare and distribute vouchers)

5. Support sustainability plan

 

Staffing:

1. Determine needed staff

2. Work with program assistant ro ensure that site staff paperwork is complete

3. Daily supervision of site staff

4. Approve site staff timesheets

5. Evaluate site staff

 

Training/Staff PD:

1. Coach and mentor staff on site

2. Schedule (SACC) School Age Child Care trainings

3. Plan and implement beginning/end of year meetings for site staff

4. Provide input for professional development needs of site staff

5. Attend necessary meetings/trainings (e.g., site coordinator meetings, regional and national trainings, data analysis and PPICS trainings, staff evaluation process)

 

 

 

 

 

Programming:

1. Create and implement a marketing plan to encourage student attendance among targeted groups

2. Enroll students in before/after school programs

3. Ensure safety of students and site staff

4. Develop, monitor and enforce site rules for staff and student behavior

5. Create and reinforce student incentive plan

6. Gather student input and determine youth development programming based on input

7. Coordinate staff and oversee implementation of youth development programs (physical fitness, developmental assets, clubs, college/career programming, service learning projects)

8. Incorporate community partners into program

9. Process student referrals for intervention programs (gather individual student data, discuss with daytime teacher)

10. Support after school teachers in the implementation of intervention strategies and curriculum being used in the program

11. Collect and review teacher plans weekly

12. Plan and implement student and/or family field trips and events

13. Plan and implement summer programming, as needed

14. Plan and lead site staff meetings throughout the year to evaluate program progress

15. Be present at the after school site during operating hours giving support and guidance to staff, student and families

 

Communication:

1. Ensure communication plan is being followed by site staff

2. Maintain daily communication with site staff (e.g., daily notes, emails, face to face)

3. Market program to families, district staff and community partners

4. Regularly create and distribute program newsletters and calendars to families

5. Document contact with district administration and day time staff

6. Keep in close contact with Program Director communicating program accomplishments, concerns and needs

 

Compliance:

1. Collect, review and submit student data (rosters, demographic information, attendance, snack records, local and state assessment scores, family surveys and grade cards) to fulfill Program Performance Objectives

2. Ensure staff and student files are up to date and site is in compliance according to School Age Child Care rules

3. PPICS-Federally required Profile and Performance Information Collection System – gather and input data for the following reports:

4. Grantee profile

5. APR-Annual Performance Report

6. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment at the Center.

7. Serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings

8. Help instill in students the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values

 

EQUIPMENT OPERATED:

 

Typical school technology as well as assistive technology (e.g., communication devices, etc.)

 

 

 

 

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

 

Dates of the work period will be stated in the employment contract

 

PERFORMANCE EVALUATION:

 

The 21st Century Program Site Coordinator will be evaluated by the 21st Century Program Director or his or her designee in accordance with the procedures identified by law and including the standards established by the organization. The employee will be given a copy of the evaluation instrument and standards in advance and he or she will be expected to conduct a self-evaluation and establish a minimum of one goal annually to advance knowledge, skill and/or ability in a job related area.
